Employee right to request time off for training or study

From April 6th 2010 Employees of organisations with over 250 staff now have the right to request time off for training or study provided they have 26 weeks service. Employers have a duty to “seriously consider” a formal request, but have no legal obligation to fund the training or study or pay for the time off.
