The REC Jobs Barometer

According to the latest REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation) Jobs Barometer things are still looking very positive.  Here are some of the points that were highlighted:-

  • A net balance of 85% of employers plan to increase permanent workforce in the short term. This is the highest since records began!
  • 4 in 10 – A positive net balance of four in ten (42%) of employers plan to increase agency worker use in the next quarter.
  • This month (July 2014), one third of hirers (32%) in engineering/technical sector are concerned about availability of permanent and agency staff in this sector, double that from the previous month.
  • Around one third (32%) of employers have no spare capacity if demand increases.
